MobilEye works as a collision avoidance system

Mobileye is a world-class manufacturer of collision avoidance devices that uses a vision sensor to detect dangers. This system constantly measures distances between objects and their relative speeds in order to calculate the collision risk. Mobileye's collision avoidance technology has been chosen by leading automotive manufacturers. Here are some MobilEye advantages. Let's see why it's so valuable.

This innovative technology blends artificial intelligence with Telematics to alert drivers of possible collisions. It constantly scans the road ahead to identify potential dangers like cyclists and pedestrians. The system warns drivers by sending out audio and visual warnings, before they cause an accident. It can work in any weather condition, including nighttime. Drivers don't need to rely on their car's engine to predict what the future holds. This technology detects obstacles in real time.

EyeQ, a custom accelerator processor chips

Mobileye's EyeQ-family of system on-chips gives you processing power to perform ADAS functions. EyeQs support both fully and semi-autonomous drive and can be used for single or dual-camera sensor applications. They have the bandwidth to process Lidars, radars, and surround cameras. EyeQ processors were manufactured using TSMC Technology. These processors are compatible with all the latest operating systems including Windows 10.

Mobileye's EyeQ forms the foundation of its technological leadership. EyeQ's high-performance, scalable accelerator architecture makes it possible to achieve state-of-the art computer vision performance. The EyeQ Ultra will be automotive-grade by 2025 and will include EyeQ6L and EyeQ6H. Its powerful architecture will drive a new era in mobility, and a higher level of safety is possible.

MobilEye built Riad as a self-driving prototype.

MobilEye’s prototype is a far cry than the autonomous vehicles that are now available in many cities all over the world. This technology requires that the driver actively participates in many aspects. However, the company has developed a prototype that can navigate in difficult environments with minimal human input. It is able to negotiate with pedestrians or jaywalkers, make 180-degree turns at multiple signals and ride through roundabouts.

The company will build an entire autonomous stack, and each component will be tested before being combined. The company plans on establishing a commercial fleet in three major cities of self-driving automobiles by the end 2022. The prototype's self-driving capabilities allow it to safely travel over 4,000,000 miles per day. It can detect pedestrians in advance of a collision and adjust its course accordingly.

How to Become an Automotive Technician

An automotive technician is responsible for vehicle maintenance and repair. He/she works at car dealerships, auto shops, garages, service centers, etc. Customers can rely on him/her to fix their cars, trucks and motorcycles. A technician in automotive must be able diagnose and repair problems quickly, safely, accurately, efficiently, and effectively.

If you want to be an automotive technician, you need an associate degree from vocational school. After completing this program, he/she must pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification exam. ASE stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The ASE certification test consists two sections. One section tests knowledge of mechanical components, while the other section tests skills in practical areas. To pass the test, you will need to visit an authorized testing location. These testing sites can be found online and through your local dealer.

Before becoming an automotive technician, a candidate must pass the test. This process can vary depending on where the applicant lives. Some states require candidates to complete a training program, while others let them study on their own. Some states require technicians to be licensed immediately upon receiving their license. Other states wait until they have been employed as automotive technicians for at least six month.

A person must apply to an auto dealership in order to get started as an automobile technician. Once hired, most new employees start out working as apprentices. Apprenticeship programs last about three years. A student will learn to repair basic things like changing oil, adjusting brakes or replacing tires. They also learn how spark plugs are cleaned and inspect engine compartments. Some students learn how to do advanced repairs, such as installing air filters, replacing shocks, repairing engines, and replacing transmission fluids. Many schools offer classes during regular hours. Some schools also offer evening classes when needed.

Once a student is done with his/her apprenticeship he/she can become a master journeyman. Journeymen usually spend four to five year learning how to install major systems like transmissions, differentials steering gear, suspensions, drive shafts, and steering gear. They are also taught how to troubleshoot electrical components and remanufacture engines. Because they have a good understanding of the job and what customers expect, many employers prefer to hire journeymen.

Candidates who pass the required exams are eligible for a license. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2010, nearly 1.7 Million automotive mechanic jobs were available. That number was expected to grow by 18 percent from 2009 to 2020. When a candidate plans to open his/her own shop he/she should be ready to invest thousands of dollars in equipment.

There are many factors that affect the salary of an automotive technician, such as where they live, their education and experience. A jobless person could make an average of $20,000 annually. Someone with only a high school diploma could earn around $21,000 per year. Those with an associate's degree earned approximately $24,000 per year. Technicians with a bachelor’s degree made about $27,000 annually. The average annual salary for those with master's degrees was $32,000. A common trend is for salary increases to occur so a professional making less than $30,000 can reasonably expect to be earning $40,000 or more within a few years.
